Would You Enjoy A Broadway Show?

lucileballsardis.jpgMany of you know I am married - and my wife and I really love Broadway Musicals.  On our Honeymoon we made a special stop in New York City to take in Phantom of the Opera and a nightcap at the famous Sardi's Restaurant in the heart of New York's Theater District!  One of our favorite shows is Jonathan Larson's RENT which we also saw in New York one Christmas.  There are dozens of shows we would love to take in … but New York is still a long way from home for a Down Home Couple from Southern Delaware!  That's why I was very interested to learn how email marketing from Delivra is helping to bring Broadway to Main Streets and Small Towns all over the country!

If you love Broadway musicals and live in or around New York - there is no problem seeing your favorite shows any day of the week!  But for anyone living more than a few hours away from New York's Theater District - like in the Texas Panhandle, the Ozarks, or on Oklahoma's wind-swept plains - you have a considerably harder time catching a show. Email Marketing is playing an important role in the success of touring Broadway shows.

Now the company Celebrity Attractions brings touring companies of Broadway shows like Wicked and Phantom of the Opera to places like Tulsa, Oklahoma City, Lubbock, Amarillo, Little Rock, and Springfield, Missouri.

IT Director Randy Cole says, "We package five shows per market each year.  Because Celebrity Attractions has about 35,000 subscribers, we're able to draw the bigger shows." Broadway lovers can sign up for a subscription series, or buy tickets through the Celebrity Attractions website.  It's that easy - and email marketing keeps customers up to date on coming attractions!

Passionate theatergoers hate to miss a single show, but the far-flung nature of the subscriber base makes keeping them informed a challenge.  Celebrity Attractions stays in touch with phone messages and email. "We've used email since 1998," Randy says. "It's one of the fastest ways to get a response. We routinely send messages to our subscribers reminding them they have tickets for a specific, upcoming production. We also conduct email campaigns to notify our patrons who have purchased single tickets in the past of upcoming 'on-sale' dates."

Randy Cole, of Celebrity Attractions, was using a do-it-yourself software package and ran into several roadblocks. "With our volume of messages, we were being tagged as spammers," he recalls. "We were on blacklists from national and local providers, and our web host and ISP were warning that we were exceeding restrictions. We knew it was time to take it to a guaranteed IP address that is constantly monitored and scrubbed."

Randy learned about Delivra while researching solutions, and was really impressed by the attitude of the company's representative. Then he noticed that a colleague at a Broadway organization used Delivra's services too. Her rave reviews convinced him - and Randy has relied on Delivra ever since!

Celebrity Attractions' customer base is so loyal that they get upset if they don't learn about a show. "Since we started working with Delivra, I've had far fewer people complain that they're not getting their messages. I've seen our website visits go up, too."

You can visit the Celebrity Attractions website to learn about shows in your area, or check out a copy of the Celebrity Attractions email newsletter which is sent by Delivra.  If you are struggling with a do-it-yourself software package like Randy Cole was - visit Delivra for more information on improving your email marketing today.

Part of the appeal of seeing a show is that you're in New York to do it - walking out of the theater, getting in a cab to go to a nice little restaurant - for me that is a huge part of it. If you're coming to the city from further away, though, it definitely makes sense to broadway tickets already purchased, though.
